# Application for Summer school (scholarship application) ([Hague Academy / HAIL Summer School](https://www.hagueacademy.nl))

I am writing to apply for a scholarship to attend The Hague Academy of International Law.

The Academy is internationally recognised as being the premier institution for further learning in international law. Having a longstanding interest in international law, I am excited by the prospect of participating in an intensive course of study at the Peace Palace, surrounded by the world’s best international law scholars and students. To join the alumni of the Academy would be an honour.

In addition to receiving teaching from distinguished scholars, I hope to benefit from the wide range of perspectives and ideas that arise from having people of many different backgrounds in attendance. Not only do I feel that this fosters a unique educational experience, but also a social and cultural one.

The program this year particularly appeals to my interests in human rights and international courts and tribunals, and I would seek to gain a deeper understanding of the issues surrounding these topics.

If selected to receive a scholarship to attend the summer school, I would wholeheartedly immerse myself in the program, both contributing and listening actively to the contributions of others.

In general, study scholarships are in the amount of 1150 euros (from which the registration fee of 400 euros will be deducted) Travelling expenses are not normally reimbursable
Applications for scholarships must relate to only one of the two periods
