Ocean update

Offshore windfarms 'can provide more electricity than the world needs'.
Only four of the UK's 355 marine protected areas are fully protected from fishing and other activities, but a review is underway. British readers can sign the petition to strengthen protection.

Two inspiring projects by young ocean leaders need your help to meet their crowdfunding goals:

Sea the Future is a one-year interdisciplinary sailing expedition around Northwestern Europe that will explore the human-ocean relationship.

Bigger than Us is a short animated movie inspired by Inuit legends that will take you on a journey to understand the problem of marine pollution. The film explores the impacts of our way of life and shows what we can do in a friendly and understandable way.

Meanwhile, this fantastic animation about the high seas has been nominated for an award (so please go vote!).
